I hate SONY!!! After using Samsung LCDs and smartphones for many years I decided to switch to SONY family. I deeply regret this decision. My LED W805 series has a terrible banding effect which makes watching football close to impossible and now problems with my Xperia Z1. How incompetent you have to be to make updates (4.2.2 -> 4.3) that make your phone work worse than before. Thank you SONY! My handsfree set is completely useless right now. What about road safety? Do you have any answer for it?

Well, Sony released the 4.3 update for my Vodafone (UK) on the 20th December 2013.. Thats 82 days ago and the bluetooth still does not work properly.. So I guess that they will never, ever fix it! Thanks Sony for totally ignoring the issue...  I really wish that I hadnt got this phone which is slowly but surely turning into a pile of junk...

Yep, I'm agree with this. This is far too long for a glitch to be rectified! Same issues. My SE HCB108 handsfree device has connected to every other phone I've had with no problems. The Z1 never maintains a connection, constantly disconnects, and annoyingly, the first you notice it is when you get a call and only the phone rings because it has disconnected from the handsfree!

I guess now the Z2 has been announced the Z1 is going to be put on the backburner...? Slightly_frowning_Face

Same here, got a cd400 and a z1 combo, i can connect to the cd400 via bluetooth, i can not answer using the contols on the wheel or hang up. I have to use the phone to call and answer, i can't store numbers on the cd400 either, i would down grade to 4.2 but its not that clear for a beginner. Will wait for a hopeful fix.

Don't hold your breath on that! I don't think that Sony cares... After all, they have got your hard earned cash, so why bother? As I said earlier, it's now nearly 3 months since 4.3 was shipped and they have done absolutely nothing about this problem...apart from blaming the car and/or audio system manufacturers.. Oh and making the z1 obsolete by releasing the z2....

Well yes.

Road safety is: don't use your smartphone at all while driving.

So all your concentration is focussed on the road you drive.

So in your case, Sony gives you more security Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes

By the  way, did you ask the car manufactorer? A car has often frequency distortion because of used parts, it can influence the bluetooth frequency.

Ok so i did not want to admit defeat,

I read through the downgrade procedure and installed 4.2

All working and cant see much differnce to the OS on the phone, i can make and recieve calls using the voice command. It asked if the car can view my contacts when i set it up and ticked yes and dont ask again. Would be nice to have the latest android on the phone but i prefer the bluetooth working correct.
