Doh, feel a bit stupid. just made the phone visible while in the car and it connected fine.

It's strange that, as much as I hate apple ALL OF THEIR PHONES, WHATEVER VERSION OF IOS THEY ARE RUNNING, NEVER SEEM TO HAVE THIS BLUETOOTH ISSUE... saunas s3 running 4.3 will connect and run fine... It's easy to blame someone else.. It's the easy way out... Car manufacturers make cars not phones so don't blame them for your ineptitude... and crap software.. I am a programmer so I do know what I am talking about.. You have completely tosh this sofware release up and the sooner you man-up and fix it the better... It's illegal in the UK to use your phone when driving...

Any news on this issue?

Nearly a month now since the crappy/buggy 4.3 was released and er.........................  NOTHING!

Totally agree. Why hasn't this been sorted yet.
I never complain but I can't use my phone when driving and it's my job. Not good enough

Is there a way to roll back to 4.2 without rooting the device? I have an opel with same problems and also some applications nfl mobile application is crashing. 4.3 suxx mate. I suppose it is not even a beta yet. I will never update a version before some 3-5 months its launch.

Gotta add to the A2DP issue with my 4.3 Z1 and a number of A2DP Bluetooth headphones... and the SW2 too.  The Bluetooth stack appears to restart during audio initialisation causing the receiver device (car, phones, SW2) to either reject the connection, or in the case of the SW2 - restart the watch.  And the AVRCP profile is shockingly shaky at the best of times; refusing remote control from the receiving devices (i.e. play/pause, next/prev track, etc)

None of these issues occured with 4.2.

Devices:  Xperia Z1, SmartWatch2, 3xPlantronics PLT-903+'s, 2xPhilips SHB9100's, 1xX-Mini KAI speeaker...

I asked about roll back to 4.2 and was told there is no official way to do it. I've asked when the new build will be released for 4.3 which I hope will fix the car / Bluetooth connectivity as this issue is reported across other(phone) manufacturers too. So far, no release date, just a link to how sony gain approval for their builds, which in this case was completed on 23rd December...
