Hello together,
i have a problem with my new Z1.
I get a connection with my Bluetooth Navi 600 but i can´t see any incoming/outgoing Phonecalls, there are no telephone book entry´s....
First try: my entries are in the phone book on SIM card- no chance
second try copy my entries to the telephone - no chance to see my entries in the car...
what can i do that these problems are gone....??? Sorry of my bad english....i´m a german men.
thanks a lot
First try with a different bluetooth device & if the problem persists then try to reset or repair your Z1 using Sony PC Companion.

When you try to access the contacts from the car you should get a question in the phone asking if you want to allow this or not.
The information i've found when searching different forums does however indicate that this doesn't work with Android 4.2 in your car. I find several reports of users saying that it works until you update the phone or tablet to Android 4.2. See https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40198 for example.
I recommend that you contact Opel to see which phones that are compatible with your car and if the car is supposed to support Android 4.2.

What you replied is utter rubbish... My Z1 (with 4.2.2) worked fine with my car audio - I could use the hands free facility with no problems. Once sony updated the Z1 to 4.3 I couldnt use the hands free facility at all (although the phone and car audio pair sucessfully). Therefore it is SONY that have completely screwed-up the Bluetooth stack in their 4.3 upgrade by, I think, removing some functionality
*** THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE ***
*** FIX IT IMMEDIATELY ***
I'll pass this on as feedback internally.
But i still recommend that you also contact Opel to check if your car system is supposed to work with phones using Android 4.2 and later. From the information i can find from Opel i can't see any phones with Android 4.3/4.4 listed as compatible. I found compatibility lists from Opel and different cars here: http://www.opel-australia.com.au/owners/FAQs0.html.
Looking at Google Nexus 4 with Android 4.2 it's listed as not compatible with both Opel Astra and Insignia while it works with Corsa so it looks like Opel doesn't support later Android versions.
My Sony Xperia Z worked fine with my top of the range Kenwood head unit but my Z1 does not......spoke to a Kenwood Tech who just said that the Z1 was not listed as one of the compatible phones, not sure if Kenwood & indeed other manufacturers update the software on their equipment to take into account new technology & if they do how can we mere mortals update it to the sterios!!!?
At the end of the day it is just a minor inconvenience, annoying yes but hey!
My Volvo won't connect to my Z1 either, while it connected regularly and reliably with my old HTC Desire. Bluetooth is on, showing at the top of the screen, but it isn't brightly lit like the icons for NFC and Stamina, WIFI etc are, which are bright white. The Bluetooth icon is a dull grey, which makes me think it just aint working.
With my Kenwood its when a call is incoming & the Kenwood screen has the 'Green Phone Handset' that you press to accept the call....but it wont do anything when you press it, tried hooking up other family members phones & it works fine with them.........strange!!!!!!
