Sony Z5 Premium Dual.
It started when I noticed I can't hear my calls using loudspeaker. Used the software diagnostic to test the phone and discovered vibration doesn't work too.
Tried the Xperia Companion to do software repair. Software repair took forever (around 5hrs) and progress bar not moving. Removed the phone from usb cable and restart the phone (button still working). After restart and resetting all software and restoring it, button doesnt work anymore. Couldn't even do Xperia Companion. Shut down my phone using button next to simcard now I cant turned it on! Connecting the usb cable just shows the battery icon.
Bought it in Hong Kong last Jan. 2017. Living in the Philippines. Philippine market doesn't have this model no more. Bought this because of the 800ppi for VR.
Sony! What is wrong with you??? Does this phone have international warranty? Sony you better fix this without charging me any money or else...
Very dissapointed!
Solved! Go to Solution.
I finally figure out what happened. After warranty period, I dropped it again, same thing happens. I asked someone to open it up again and found out that the clip holding the wires lossens when dropped. I wasted money using Fedex to send my phone to be repaired in HK. It was a bad design! Sometime when I drop it, all I had to do was just push the middle of back panel so the clip will snap in place.
Bad product!
as this is more of a hardware problem your possible solution would be to send it for repair at your local service center Local support..
unless you can find a faster internet speed to make a software repair using Xperia Companion
Unfortunately!
1. I cant use the Xperia Companion because the buttons don't work anymore.
2. Local customer service in the Philippines doesn't have the capability to repair Z5 Premium Dual nor honors international warranty for Xperia. Local customer service only cares about profit and minimizing cost and doesn't care about Sony Xperia brand and doesnt want to help. Will contact Sony Service in Hong Kong. I am hoping that the management of Sony HQ Japan/USA/UK who cares about their brand can help me. Maybe they're listening here???... For God's sake, this is one of your top of line mobile phone.

I have exactly the same problem. My Sony Xperia is 3 months old! 2 phones ago, I also had a Sony top model and there after 1 year exactly this same issue came up. I had to grow the phone away...
This seems a structural Sony issue! Where is the audio pride of the 80-ies?
