Sony z3 compact xperia back and home button not working

I am using z3 for almost a year and dint have any issues. Since last two updates i am facing two problems.

1. The drop down notification menu does not displays properly when slided over from top to bottom

2. Back and home button works once in a blue moon. Previously they were working great. Now i will have to try for more than 25 times to make that happen or restart the device.

Please let me know if this is a software issue caused by the latest software release or is there a way to bring back the old version of software. Eventually i need a working software and not this piece of ugly software quality.

Please respond when this issue will be resolved.

I couldn't wait longer for a solution, so had to buy a new phone. Couldn't go back to Sony after this, so I got a Samsung.shame. Oh well...

Hope it's not an S7, they seem to have a nasty bug where they mildly explode. Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes

I've tried this solution and not only this didn't work (it kept crashing), but now that I've restarted the phone, I cannot use it anymore. It keeps giving me this error: "Unfortunately, Setup guide has stopped". Please don't post things as you know what you are saying if you don't!

Sorry for my English. I have a sony z3. After the latest updates began to have problems with the three buttons at the bottom. Then the problem has expanded to the entire screen. I can not use the keyboard to write, for example. I am very disappointed by the silence of Sony support to solve the problem. I do not buy more a Sony phone or anything. Unfortunately I'm considering switching to an Apple phone.
Sonyyyyy, where are you ???? Help us, please

Same problem here... Been using my Sony Z3c for nearly two years now.

I believe that there is a problem with the capacitive sensors at the bottom of the screen... So the temporary fix until Sony finds a solution is:

1. Enable GLOVE MODE

2. Use the tip of your nail to press the buttons on the Navigation Bar

I have the same problem since yesterday. In fact it started spontaneously, not after any update. Then I decided to update the OS to Marshmallow and done all the necessary updates, issue remained unsolved. When I am using an application, for example Chrome, in order to switch to another one I need to restart the phone. Practically it is now a very smart phone that runs with only 1 application. Kind of minimalistic approach.

Z3 Compact, 23.5.A.1.291 Here too and I noticed this problem has just started last week too.... definately never happened before latest update.

What the heck Sony? Planned obsolescence? introduce an annoying bug so people upgrade their phones?
Lock screen ok so it cannot be a HW problem...

Glove mode fix is ok for now but not thinking of a Sony for my next phone thats for sure... unless this problem is handled correctly

Latest, after a week....my Glove Mode: ON effected too with the same problem. I don't prefer to use other apps beside from Sony Mobile Communications Apps to solve / fix this problem, affraid it might get more worst then what's already happened. This is really really really a great dissapointment for me on SONY Smartphones....pffffffttttt!!!

Same problem here. This is clearly planned obsolescence. And nobody from Sony is helping us.
I decided to change to another brand before all of this. Now I have no doubt.
See you in another life Sony!

I hope this will be fixed soon somehow, but I am not a believer.

Pd: Sorry for my bad english

Hi all. So after one update the drop down menu stopped working while the phone is unlocked. But works when in locked mode. The second update then came through, and knocked out the three buttons at the bottom of the screen. I took my phone to o2. And they said that Sony will release another update to fix this bug. But it would appear that's not the case. When did this problem first start... So I can take it back to o2.Or... Better yet.... Someone from Sony actually fix the problem!!
