Sony z3 compact xperia back and home button not working

I am using z3 for almost a year and dint have any issues. Since last two updates i am facing two problems.

1. The drop down notification menu does not displays properly when slided over from top to bottom

2. Back and home button works once in a blue moon. Previously they were working great. Now i will have to try for more than 25 times to make that happen or restart the device.

Please let me know if this is a software issue caused by the latest software release or is there a way to bring back the old version of software. Eventually i need a working software and not this piece of ugly software quality.

Please respond when this issue will be resolved.

Hi all! Same problem here since yesterday morning... Seems that the Last update broke our phones... My sony worked perfect with kitkat and lolipop... Since 6.0 i have 1300 errors with xperia home and the down bar is not working anymore. I've tried to repair software with sony pc companion and still no result. Do something sony and listen ur customers! I don't see any official answer around here.. at least to let us know that you are aware of this issue and working to fix.

Screen test works fine, in some sub menus it's working, the trick with nova launcher did not work.

I got the same problem after marshmallow update. My phone is under warranty, so I have taken my mobile to service center today. Now waiting for the updates.

Bought xperia z3 compact in oct 2014. but within 8 months i faced touch problem where we use to swipe for notification. Then we changed the display under warranty. but now i faced the same problem within another 6 months. i adjusted with it but now again back n home button s not working. when we ask in service centre they r asking to change display for 10 k. so its like we need to change display for every 6 months when it comes to sony. then y should v buy a high end mobile for 43k. its really frustating. v have another samsung mobile without display problem for more than 2 years.  do v need to spend 10k each 8 months for display in sony???

Hi, my Z3 compact is just over one year old. No screen damage. The home and back buttons no longer work in portrait. They work in landscape and the part of the screen where they are located also works in landscape. Phone is basically useless, very frustrated. Any advice?

Its not the touch screen fault. i used my xperia almost 2 years and no problem untill the new update that destroyed our phones. hardware does not fail to all users in the same time, it must be 100% the software problem. its really bad that they don't answer and come with a fix for all the customers
