The problems remains with the Google Now Launcher.
After trying everything Sony offers (Xperia Companion, advices, call centre...) and getting no result, I've just installed this app that works perfect!

That's a pitty Sony can not solve the problem and that we have to rely on third parties...
Since none of the solutions proposed by Sony seems to work, I would advice anyone who is having the same issue to install the app. This will save you a lot of time!
Someone have reached a solution or tell if downgrading the firmware (Marshmallow to Lollipop) can solve this problem ?
Hey guys,
My first sony Z3 compact has got issues with the top bar, send in for repair twice during warranty, they couldnt do anything about it hence they gave me a new phone. Now its about 7 months using the new phone, the bottom bar with return and home button doesnt work at all. I emailed them, they gave instruction to do software repair... no use.
Now i went into settings, I switched on the Glove Mode. and my buttons are working again!!!!
Please try!!!!
I restart my phone to try and get to the home screen, go into settings, go into display and turn on the Glove Mode. N it can actually sense my finger when it touches the bottom buttons! Try it!
I have the same problem 3 days after the update, my bottom part of the screen aka, the back, home and the square button is not working. I tried everything, repairing the system, erasing the factory data but the problem still occurs.
Same issue as others in the thread: First pull down menu stopped working, now onscreen nav buttons. I've been restarting my phone to switch apps!. I did the software repair, and no change. It seems it's a software issue as the touch sensitive areas occupied by the nav buttons respond on the lock screen.
I'm quite disappointed that after all this time there is no definitive response from Sony on this. I'll try the work arounds in the responses using third party apps. I've had the phone for ~16months, and will not pay to repair what is either a software issue, or faulty hardware; if the hardware was faulty, it should be repaired for free. Sony really needs to give a definitive response on this; it's not like it's a new issue, or that they are unaware.
I've started rersearching replacements. Obviously I can't go with Sony again after this. It's really a shame, becaue it is a nice phone.I'll monitor this thread for responses from Sony officials.
Mine also started just after the warranty expired. I heard it's a typpical Sony problem,i.e. digitiser is not robust. A fren using Z1 also had to have his replaced after just bumping it against the walls when inserting it into the car comprtment. And after researching, I heard Z5 is also experiencing the same problem.
Sony, you better buck up soon. I can't go for this brand anymore since it's not of a robust design. My Samsung Galaxy S3 lasted for >3 yrs, but with you only just slightly over 1 yr. What a waste of money for a very expensive investment. I am going back to Samsung, just a pity cos I like small sized designs as it fits small pockets.
