The call log lagging issue is basically connected to LTE radio. Radio has a bug where, even if LTE is available, the radio sticks to 3g and freezes to switch. Mainly when volte not available, for calling or SMS ,it switches to 3g or 2g GSM and then can't switch back to LTE.

During this issue of radio, the phone overheats, the logs and phone app lags and if you try to open service settings using *#*#7378423#*#* even that wouldn't load for few minutes. Only way to fix this is either completely disable LTE or force LTE only using service settings and then switch back to 4g/3g/2g setting.

It's a stupid feature of 7.1 that you can't disable permanently. You can blame google for that as it was their change and not Sony's

I haven't charged the device since I did the tests the other day, and the device has just been in standby receiving confirmation SMS's over several hours, for phone tied accounts when I log in to online accounts on the Web, or for other SMS related stuff like appointment reminders

Phone (z5) has become faster and battery life has increased.BUT!!! Unfortunately, phone hangs a lot! I don't know why!

Overall - just from the few days of testing - it feels like the phone will enter standby mode faster than previous Android releases - which will help extend the battery life.

This may cause problems for poorly written apps that require the phone to be in active state to handle functions - there may be some additions to the Google API that have been introduced to SDK 25 that app developers are yet to implement
