Hi,

Does anyone else know of a compatability problem with Vaio Bluetooth and Nokia PCsuite software?

Nokia are blaming the Vaio bluetooth.

Any help much appreciated!!!

Probably not much help but I use Nokia PC Suite on my TR5 and have had no problems connecting to my phone.

In fact it connects automatically every time the computer is switched on, if the phone is in range.

I can't give you any more details at present as I am using my "other" computer to type this.

A few more details...

I am using PC Suite version 6.6.16 with a Nokia 6230 phone.

I am using Sony Bluetooth - From memory during Discovery if you get the option of choosing Microsoft or Bluespace choose Microsoft.

Thanks for the reply. I have downloaded the latest version, but still have the problem.

The only selection is Microsoft Bluetooth.

Laptop is A497XP.

Funny you should say that because I successfully use all the functions of the PC Suite on my TR5 with my phone but when I tried to upload a ringtone to my girlfriends NOKIA phone using my TR5 it wouldn't work. The ringtone never appeared on the phone menu.

Hers is the NOKIA model that unfolds to reveal a full keyboard ( SMS heaven for her), I am afraid I don't know the model number.

Being easily discouraged she just paid to download the ringtone by SMS and I never discovered why it didn't work.

I successfully uploaded a wallpaper to my phone but maybe that wouldn't have worked with her phone either.

So just to summarise. if you can connect and backup I doubt whether it is a bluetooth issue.

Most of the functions of the Nokia PC suite do not work. The phone connects to the PC, and I am able to do a back-up, but that's all. So that means that I am unable to transfer pics to or from the phone.....

Nokia say it's a known problem with Sony Vaio's and there software, and that there could be a SOny 'fix'?????

All I can suggest is you register and post your problem here:

They seem very into Bluetooth as USA TR5'S do not come with Bluetooth as standard and most upgrade themselves.

Maybe also Google for Nokia Forums.
