I have a sony vaio FS series notebook and i seem to be facing a rather strange problem with it these days.
The brighntess of the screen changes depending on how the screen is positioned. E.g. it gets dull and if i move the screen slightly up or down it gets back to normal. I bought my vaio in April of this year and i find this to be quite shocking that the screen is already giving in?
Is that the real problem?
Shd I send it back to claim warranty?
I think your laptop has a light sensor (LDR) which automatically adjust the brightness of your screen according to the room light. Also don't block the sensor if you have one on your screen (small hole). But I am not too sure.
I do not think that FS series comes with those (LDR). Does it?
If not, there could be loose connection:smileyconfused:
Give Vaio-Support a ring
same as above if there is no light senor contect them and make a calm.
if ur laptop screen is ATI mobility, and not X black with 2 lamps, then u definitely must look directly into it coz u will lose brightness by looking from any angels.

many ppl on this forum dunno nothing! many laptops use screen called ATI mobility and it even takes its video memory through the RAM
that's y many PCs with RAM 192 although its 256, coz 256 - 64 video ram = 192
