K315M System memory problem

The system shows that it has 384 MB of Ram but the laptop is 512MB how do you change it to its correct MB , I just did a full system restore a friend resolved the problem last time but I need to sort it my self this time please help .

Your computer has what is called shared video memory. This means that up to 128Mb of your system RAM can be taken and used by the video system. You will find that you can alter the amount of shared RAM in the BIOS. I believe that the minimum amount of memory that you can share is 32Mb.

Access to the BIOS settings is done by restarting your computer and the then tapping the F2 key before the Vaio startup logo appears onscreen.

your video memory is 128MB and is dedicated from the physical memory RAM, if you reduced this amount of dedicated memory, your computers graphics will no longer be 128MB.which is obviously important.

Try 32MB Vram. Your system will run much faster. And this size is more than enough for windows applications and the range of games which you can play.
