Starting Up

Hope someone can help. Started to charge my PRS-505 and after some time the charging screen appears and continues to charge. Then the reader changes screen to 'starting up' and hangs there forever. I have tried re-setting it but I think I am not doing it correctly. NB Whilst on this screen I get no reactions to any butons pressed including power o/off.

Don't know much about the 505 I'm afraid, but I'm presuming you've had this a while - and you are following the manual's procedure on resetting ?

If you have a hard/soft option,  a "hard" reset may be needed - but remember to back-up all contents, as you will lose everything on the device, so you can load them on again.

Another possibility may be the battery - it may have reached RIP time :slight_frown:
