So, this just happened about an hour ago, and it's still happening.
So, I left my phone to charge (still on) for a few minutes, while I go and eat. I go back, and check on my phone. I checked my facebook messages, and it suddenly says "Unfortunately, messenger has stopped" so, kicked me back to my home screen. I tried to open it again, but my phone wasn't responding at all. I pressed the power button, and tried to open it again, but it won't.
I tried holding down the power button, and volume up, and it booted up again, but it won't go past the "Sony Xperia" logo.
It's been like that for an hour now. I decided to shut it down again (power button + volume up), and leave it to charge again.
This phone is very important to me, because I am currently overseas for the next few months, and I currently can't afford a new phone. Please help.
Additional info: My phone has gone through many factory resets, due to reboot loops, and "[all of my apps] has stopped"
Hello @Geki and welcome to the community!
I'm very sorry to hear about your Xperia E3.
First of all, try pressing and holding the power and volume up buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds or until the phone vibrates or press and hold the OFF-button next to your SIM-card until the phone vibrates. Use a paperclip, pen or something else Then connect a charger again. I would also recommend that you attempt to boot your phone without you SIM and/or SD-card inserted and that you try booting your phone with the volume down key pressed in during the entire startup process.
It might take about 30 minutes for the device to indicate that it is charging if it is completely discharged, during this period the display may remain black. Try charging your device for about 4 hours as it can take a while for a completely depleted battery to fully charge.
If possible, use a Sony original charger and USB-cable specifically intended for your device. Other chargers may be too weak or too strong as they may have a different electric current rating (mA).
I understand how it feels to have something you depend on stop working, I remember when my car broke down while on vacation in another country.
Let me know how it goes, fingers crossed that you are able to get your phone up and running.
Thank you so much for the reply, but after doing those instructions, and charging it up to full battery, it still won't go past the sony logo
the problem you are experiencing is bootloop, you can try to search the forum for bootloop problems and try the solutions posted
Oh, I see.
It sounds like this is software related. If any of my previous suggestions didn't help with getting your phone started I would recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Note that this will unfortunately reset the phone in the process, if you are unable to start up your phone a backup will not be possible I'm afraid.
Keep me posted and let me know if this helped.
Thank you.
Update: I recently found a sony support center somewhere in the city I'm currently in. I'll try bringing it there, and update you
Alright, keep me in the loop on how it goes!
Update:
Apologies for not being able to update for nearly a month!
I have been very busy with work (The first reason I was here in the first place)
Anyways,
Unfortunately, lady luck hasn't been shining upon me at all!
When I went to the support centre, they were closed for some reason! And, they didn't open ever since then!
So, here I am, attempting to fix it myself with the Xperia companion.
I'm currently in the repair process, and my, my. It's taking long 😕
Anyways, it should be okay after this. I'll update you if anything happens.
Thank you so much for the help, kind sir/ma'am!
Update(Again):
So, I've come across a problem.
Whenever I try to use the Xperia companion, it only goes until up to around a quarter, then it gives me this error:
Error code: UEUpdateFailed
UE_2005
I did everything correctly, and the connection was never disrupted. Niether was the internet.
I've reinstalled the companion twice now, and it's still doing it.
Help? 😕
Thanks for the update @Geki!
Sorry to hear that you're having some trouble with Xperia Companion. What I would recommend is that you first make sure that Xperia Companion isn't blocked by your antivirus or firewall. Should you still receive the same error message in Xperia Companion I recommend that you try either a new network or another computer.
Keep me posted!
