I bought an old Xperia E1 on EBay, but I'm having trouble with the phone memory. It keeps telling me it's almost full, but EVERYTHING I've downloaded is on the SD card! I've only downloaded 4 apps, ALL of which I've installed on the SD card. There are No photos; No music - nothing else on the phone except the pre-installed apps. But when I try to update the apps on the memory card it tells me there is insufficient memory - but the SD card has over 14GB free!
I cannot delete or move to the SD card ANY of the rubbish apps that I will never use that came installed on the phone. Is there something else that could be taking up space on the internal memory?
Can anyone advise why the Play store updater cannot see that there is plenty of space on the SD card for the updates and install them on there? Also how to get rid of some of the rubbish that is on the internal memory - OR move it to the SD card, which would free up some space?
Thanks
Clean your cached data, if this doesn't work I have other solutions, don't worry:smileyhappy:
Hi, sorry I've been off the forum for a while. I tried clearing the cache - it hasn't helped 😦
Clear the data from the apps you don't use
Settings>apps
If Google plus is pre installed, Un-install updates and
Google>type in Google plus>login>3 dots at top right>add to homescreen
It basically changes it into a non megabyte app, you can do this with Twitter,Facebook,LinkedIn,etc...
These are just some of many ways to get space.
Bearing in mind that when you add an app to your SD card it doesn't fully go on, it's like this with all phones.😉
Thanks, I'll try this, though not sure I've totally understood your instructions!
Sorry if I didn't say it clearly, it's basically downloading an app without actually downloading it, adding social apps to your homescreen instead of downloading them gives you lots of space. Just remember to uninstall all apps like twitter and Facebook, also uninstall Google plus' updates and clear data from Google plus and all those other pre installed apps you don't use!
