Tried everything suggested in https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00223423 and https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/zd9-arc-issue/td-p/2382833 , still no joy.
Can Sony provide the explanation what has been going wrong with the ARC output on 65ZD9 please? I have had enough of it.

But if there is any help we could give, we would need to know what issue you are having, exactly, with what equipment connected to the ARC port, and by what specification of HDMI cable.

I have SONY 65ZD9 connected to ARCAM FMJ AVR400 receiver via KabelDirekt – 2m HDMI cable HDMI 2.0/1.4
TV was outputting audio in ARC but it just stopped suddenly. I can see TV is sending commands to AV receiver but not sending audio.
Hey apanveka, have you tried the basic steps? unplugging everything, changing cables, ports? Updating the software?
