Hello everyone. Same problem here on my z5 witch I've had for not even 6months. I'm stuck in the middle between the store I bought it in who says it's a software problem and Sony has yo take care of it. And Sony who says it's a problem.
I had to do the reset to default settings and not updated the phone to get it to work. Have been following this thread on and off to see if anyone or Sony finds a solution.
Disappointed to see that nothing has happened in 2months and I understand others frustration whom have had the problem even longer.
There's a new system update now but I think I'll wait before installing that one, doubtful it will help.
I like Sonys phone when working properly but this is beyond bad in customer service.
Kind regards to all in this forum who tries to help out.
No regards to sony.
PS I also have the old z3 problem when it freezez goes black and then restarts, yaaay.
The recent software updates are all What's New app. Nothing major. Doesn't solve any problem either.
According to a chat sessionwith Sony Netherlands i have send my Z3-Compact to their workshop ( Dynafix Care BV / Dr. Mobile or some other aliasses ) Did send it to them 24th of september. Their workshop is still waiting for a replacement part ( prob. a new screen? ). Well, recently Sony Nethelands told me their warranty policy is to try rapair within 30 days (!) After this period you can send or they will a complain to their service desk.
Too bad. I have bought my device for business purposes. Never a new Sony again.

I have the same issues and luckily I can send my Z3c to have it repaired under warranty.
I've tried the app Simple Button. Great app that replaces the 3 fuction buttons and the notification bar / Quick setting. You can place this bar on any side of the screen you want. But when I place it on the top or bottom of the screen even this app is not responding. When I have the phone in landscape still the bar wil not respond at the left and right of the screen. So I believe it really is a hardware problem.

But appereantly they did marvelous job. Very rare software engineers are able to do that nowadays.
Still waiting for solutions from Sony, if any. Not paying for repairs-I did not break my phone.
Cheers
Same problem here on my sony Z3c... Can't believe this thread is 30 pages long and still no solution !!

They posted a "solution" which solves nothing. Their solution is "shelve out more money for your phone to be fixed."
New flagship phone looks dope but not buying it anymore lest it's the same as Z3/Z3C/Z5/Z5C.
