Please Sony any update on this ??
-it's general (hundreds of user affected (only the one reporting) )
-it's software related 99% (works in locked screen)
-multiple problems in one (notification bar not scrolling down, home, back, recent apps butons not working)
Fixes proposed seems to not work : SW repair
SERIOUSLY ? do i realy need to change this hundreds € but not 2 years-old phone, very good on other sides ?
Same problem here short after I've installed the update (Build 23.5.A.1.291). Helped myself by installing an app called Handy Soft Keys. Otherwise the phone would be useless but the app is also just a makeshift. The glove mode is even more annoying.
I can't understand why Sony won't buy themselves some time by giving us a reasonable info like that they are aware of and working on that problem.
I think we can rule out a coincidence between the update and these button failures. I don't believe that a software update destroyed the hardware, but if that's the case, I would like Sony to tell us rather sooner than later.
I am having the same issue with my 3 buttons on the bottom of the screen. It was fine until I did the last update.... The fact that Sony is not even addressing the problem is very unprofessional. Unfortunately, my warranty is up.
I have the same problem as most. First i couldnt slide down to see notifications unless I turned phone to the side, and in this view my soft keys would not work. Now my soft keys do not work in any position. Phone is essentially unusable like this. FIX NOW SONY!
I found a proof that this is a hardware or a screen size definition error: I switched on developer mode and activated the "Show touches" option.
It is very accurate if I touch anywhere but the bottom part. If I touch the problematic part the pointer is ABOVE the touched area. I made a photo after I pulled my finger ON the buttons and the line is ABOVE the buttons so I think this side of the screen is dead or out of the screen area usable by the system so it could be a program error too.
The same situation here (after last update), the only way now is to use this glove mode!
