sony z3 - charging light goes on an off in regular pattern

battery drained and trying to recharge - the red light goes on and off in a regular pattern ( 10 second intervals) along with the appearance of the charge symbol ( battery image) there no movement with the battery sign indicating any charging being in progress . I cant get a buzzing sensation from the on switch  but only when when i press the volume switch at the same time - i cant use the companion as there no charge in the battery .  any suggestions anyone?

Hey @tinysally, have you tried different chargers? Also have you tried a force restart by holding the power and volume+ for 2 mins?

Ive tried a few chargers but much about the same 

I dont get any response to holding down the volume and start button together. i don't think its a hardware

issue because the blinking etc is happening in a regular pattern . I can see a dimmed blue light in the top left hand corner though

resolved - I changed the battery
