I forgot my swiping password on my Sony Xperia z5 compact but still have my finger print conncected. I restarted my phone and now I can't use my finger print to get in. Google recovery doesn't work and I don't know how to get in my phone without lossing data. Anyone know something to get in my phone with just my fingerprint although it says " Use your code when logging in after restarting your phone"
Hi @Laurin1, welcome to our forum!
To my knowledge there is no way to reset the screen lock without resetting the device, at least not using any of our services.
The fingerprint can not be used after restarting the device and you will need to use the screen lock if you haven't unlocked the device using it for the past 72 hours.
To reset the Xperia device using Find My Device
You can also perform a software repair using Xperia Companion if you prefer that.
I hope that helps!
I have the same problem because my old sony xperia Z5 compact is locked. I don't know the pasword, and https://www.google.com/android/find?u=0 doesn't work, if I click on delete the only thing that happens is 'message send'. If I turn on my phone it shows 'you should now be able to use the password'. but I can't enter a password anywhere.
Sony companion also doens't work because it says: 'unlock the device'.
I do not know what to do now.
Hi @Amice_Pertijs, sorry for the late reply.
Make sure that the device is turned off and not connected to the computer when you start with the repair as mentioned in the guide.
Click on "Software repair" and check the little box in the bottom right left corner > proceed with the on screen instructions.
I hope that helps!
