How to copy files from a locked XperiaZ with broken screen

Hi,

I have an Xperia Z, with a cracked screen that is not responding to touch anymore.

Tried to copy files from Phone to PC, but I'm not able to see the sd-card or files.

Tried the PC Companion. It sees the phone, but say's it has to be unlocked. Which is not possible anymore.

I also tried MyPhoneExplorer (which seems to have spyware on board according TrendMicro), but also no success.

Please help, because I need my 1100 pictures....

the solution : connect your phone with Mouse by using micro usb adapter.. its work with me

Connect your phone with Wireless Mouse and It will act as a cursor to your phone.... Then Unlock It through Mouse and retrive your Information through PC connect.

I have done the same when My screen Broke.

U need .... Connector with Micro USB for Phone with Female Jack  to insert Mouse USB ...then U are good to go

Please make sure that you connect your mouse/keyboard using an OTG-cable/adapter. There are also USB-adapters that are not OTG and these will not work as they are wired differently.

Hey, I have the same issue.:smileycry:

If i connect a mouse to my Sony Z3 Compact, how can i control the screen pattern to unlock the phone if i cant even see the screen? It's black and the only way i can see the screen is if i connect the phone by HDMI to my TV.

BUT.....how can i  have the phone connected to my TV and connected to  a mouse at the same time in order to see how to unlockl the pattern code?

I'm afraid it's not possible to use MHL and connect a mouse at the same time so if you can't see the display it will be very difficult to unlock it as you need to do that without seeing the display.

If you have a PIN or password you can control the phone using the TV remote (assuming your TV supports CEC) and unlock it. This will not work for a pattern lock though.

Hi I also have the same problem, but mine is Z1. Tried doing back up and restore with PC Companion but still needs to enter the pin code, but how to enter the pin code if the touchscreen is unresponsive. I tried it through My Computer coz I'm using Windows 7 but it  can only be detected as media device,and not the internal storage I really need my files..
