what does not work with it?

-- linking a PC and the Tablet ? - only this working is what they advertize for this cable. If that doesn't work:

- either the cable is faulty.

- or it might also be that your PC is unable to get the Sony Tablet drivers loaded.

is the latter the case? look in the traybar lowerright of your PC.

-- do something else, e.g. with an additional usb-converter, connecting a mouse etc.?

For this you need a OTG cable, which allows the usb-socket to be a hub. I doubt if the cable works.

You want a USB cable that has male micro-usbA/B on one side, and female normal usb on the other side.
