how to delete shortcuts?

hi there newbie here just got my tablet for xmas and getting to grips with it. puzzled about one thing I have downloaded a couple of aps however didnt like thdm so uninstalled them however the shortcut icon remains on the main screen how do you get rid of it?! thanks for any advice great forum by the way used it alot for tips.

Hi Copper, if I understand your issue correctly just touch the icon until it allows you to move it.  When this happens a bin appears in the upper right corner.  Drop it in the bin.  Tommy.
