I have read a few of the threads and I'm concerned. I've read posts of people that got their headphones replaced and then experienced the same issue again.
There's even a video that mentions it here.
My concerns have to do with me having bought the headphones in April 2017, I've been super careful with them, I've paid 379 Euros for this, which isn't by any means cheap and recently I've noticed a little crack which is now a much bigger crack and I'm thinking that perhaps this will be unusable soon. Looking in the forums I see that Sony is replacing these, which is great and being in the EU I take it that I'm covered by the 2 minimum warranty so that shoudn't be a problem I guess but I am concerned because if next year the same happens to the replacement I have nowhere to go and there are no replacement parts available. I would assume that this being clearly a manufacturer defect ( and very clearly a QC issue ) would be resolved in a matter that it won't happen again.
Does anyone that has received replacement know ? Or anyone connected to Sony that can shed some light on the repair or replacement units? Will they have the same exact part or have these parts been upgraded so that they won't have the same problem?
Hi rodcunha,,
The defect was only in a specific range in the production line of this model only, when it gets fixed it shouldn't be an issue anymore.
You've mentioned that you bought them on April 2017, which means by now would be out of warranty since the warranty on the headphones is only one year.
I'd recommend checking with the central Sony centre to fix it, however, I guess the service will be chargeable in this case.

Hope this helps.
