WH-1000XM3 can't get mic to work

I've checked out some solutions for this but I can't get the microphone to work on my PC (windows 10). There is no option for an "Input Device" in sound settings so I went on sound settings and noticed that the "WH-1000MX3 Hands-free AG audio" was turned off. When I turned it on I could use the microphone but as a result there was no audio coming out of the headest. (Even though the "output device" was WH-1000MX3 stereo)

It seems you can't have both of these two things connected and working simultaneously, any advice?

According to Sony support, you can't have both working at the same time as this is a limitation of the Bluetooth profiles. That said, this also isn't a gaming focused headset, so it was never designed to work for this use-case in the first place.
