Wi-Fi slow on Z1XSP when unplugged
Just got a new PCG-Z1XSP recently and it's all fine and good except when I try to surf the net on batteries using Wi-Fi - it seems to slow to a crawl....
Not sure if this is software config or hardware or what, but it's really bugging me (isn't this sorta thing the exact point of Centrino?).
Tried the following:
Turned off Performance Management in the PowerPanel setting.
Set the Performance Balancer setting to Full Power.
Still doesn't seem to work. I can test it out by surfing the net fine, then unplugging the laptop and refreshing the page which takes and age to reload. Then plug it in again and refresh again. Every time I unplug it, it's dead slow
Any ideas?

when it runs on battery it lower the clock speed and it affct the overal performance including the internet explorer, (loadding a site ext) try cleaning up your system and defragment it. then you should see improvements

It's all brand new, plus I've tried turning off all the performance stuff I can and vstill no difference. The general speed of everything else is fine except internet access via Wi-Fi. Will try it with Ethernet and see if the slowdown is still there.
Nope - works fine on batteries and when attached to the network via ethernet, so it looks like it's definitely the Wi-Fi which doesn't like running off batteries.

i guess you are using wireless access point then try changing the wireless channel( from 1 -13 i think), or you could surt for a updated version of both access point and vaio wifi card
