I have recently bought a VAIO VGN-A115B. The fan on the unit is constantly running. It is very quite, but still it is running. This should not be on a centrino Notebook. My father's Samsung Centrino Notebook is completely quite when running regular office software.
Do the other owners of this model have the same problem? Any solutions?
Please post your feedback. I will turn it to Sony, if enough people complain about this. This problem could probably be solved with an update of the VAIO energy saving tool or a BIOS Update.
Thanks!
Steffen
I found out one thing: it is not the cpu fan that is running and that you can hear. I found that out when I entered the BIOS at startup (press F2 when the VAIO logo appears). After a while the CPU fan started. So there must be another fan in the unit. Maybe the Southbridge or the GPU...
My mistake. There is only one fan.
It is perhaps a virus or a worm. Have you scanned you computer with an UPDATED antivirus ?? Some of them are using a big part of your system and then the processor need to be cooled .....
Hope I helped you !!!!
