sony Vaio VPCEH only charges battery till 50%

Hi there i have a vaio VPCEH3N1E. I recentlly replaced the battery and the laptop only charges it till 50%. How can i get it to charge the battery fully?

Have you checked whether the battery care function is enabled and set to a max. charge of 50%?

Vaio Control Centre > Power Management > Battery > Advanced Settings.

If the battery care function is not enabled, is this a genuine Sony replacement battery?

I cant see the battery care function under power management. See image. the replacement battery is not a genuine sony battery.

You have a number of items missing from Vaio Control Centre menu. Try reinstalling Sony Shared Library followed by a reboot. If this fails to restore all items then reinstall Sony Notebook Utilities followed by Sony Shared Library - again reboot after each install.

I am uncertain as to whether a non Sony battery will support the battery care function.
