this despite upping the RAM to 1GB

is there any software i can download to make sure everything is running ok?

do a virus check and check for spyware.

Make a backup DVD of your recovery partition by going to the recovery wizard under programs. Defragment over and over until the system has no latency and defrags in about 30 seconds. Then engage the use of my one and only favorite program Tune Up utilities 2006 from here and trust it. Do everything it reccommends and I mean everything especially the system optomizer function.
