Primary master hard disk error

Hi I have a RZ504 desktop. I am getting a message that there is a "primary master hard disk error" and it asks for F2 button to be pressed. In safe mode I load the default settings but it won't leave safe mode. Any bright ideas of what I should do next? Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you can start in safe mode, then do that. Make a backup of all your important files. Try CHDSK.

Rightclick on drive C:\

proberties, extras,

click "check your harddisk" (or similar, my Windows isn't in english) and enable both points
click ok and reboot. Maybe it helps.

If not ,then recover the system.

Hi as Seb says try CHKDSK by either right clickin on the drive>properties>tools>check now>check of boxes in the window that appears and then start it. Alternatively you can start>run>cmd>chkdsk, but make sure you are in the directory of the drive that you want to check by typing in cd and then your drive letter such as cd c:/ or cd d:/
