The specifics of my VAIO VGN-FS115M says the max amount of RAM is 1 GB using two 512 MB SODIMM modules (PC2700 DDR 333 200 pin).
Is it an hardware limit or just there weren't 1 GB modules at the release time of this model?
In other words, has anyone installed 1 GB modules on this model?
I wouldn't buy 2 modules that I can't use...
Thanks in advance for every help.
Hi PxtMC and welcome to Club Vaio.
The amount of memory that any particular model can accept is limited by the hardware and you are correct that, for your model, two 512 MB modules is the max.
Also bear in mind that although your notebook comes with 512 MB fitted, the chances are that this will consist of two 256 MB chips, so to upgrade to 1024 BM you may need to replace all existing memory.
Btw If you have not already done so
Crucilal.com is worth a visit.
hi, i recently bought two 512 MB SODIMM modules from Crucilal.com, but i going to change my Vaio to VGN-A517B, so the memory is useless for me, if u interested pls email to me [email protected], prise can discuss.
