help me turn off my pc PLEASE!!!!

please help, every time i go to shut down my vaio rx301 it keeps restarting itself again, and no matter what i do to the power settings etc, i cant get it to turn itself off without pressing the button on the unit!!!! this is very frustrating as i have to wait for it to shut down and then physically press the button on the tower to turn it off, PLEASE HELP SOMEONE [*-:smileyhappy:] would appreciate any ideas

Has this always been a problem or did it start recently?

Go to :arrow: VAIO Link and type "shutdown" in the knowledgebase search box. You will get about 42 hits. Hopefully at least one will help you out.

common problem with acpi, search for it on ms knowledge base, it helped in my case (Win98SE on an Asus P2B)
