Yo! its me again.. i wonder does anyone had this problems.. well more like annoying, when you put a cd in the rom it kept spinning even tho you are not using it.. for examples. i am playing warcraft3 and i leave the cd inside after i finished.. then i turn off my laptop.. the next day i turn it on not playing.. but the cd kept spinning none stop... and it quite loud.. it only stop untill i press eject button...
this is new for me:smileyconfused:
Heard about this somewhere, there used to be software called DVD idle that reduced the amount of drive spin when it wasn't being directly accessed. The software is still out there somewhere but its not specifically for this purpose anymore and now also has DVD region and copy-protection removal built-in, so you have to pay for it.
Still, worth a look. Its listed on google.
Oh yeah another piece of software called AnyDVD (www.slysoft.com) has a feature that allows you to reduce the max speed of the DVD drive, making it a lot quieter when watching movies etc. Works with both CDs and DVDs. Also have to pay for this tho 😉
