BEST WAY TO CLEAN LAPTOP SCREEN

Hi all,

Im a proud owner of vaio fe series laptop for about three months now. My screen is still in mint condition. No scratches or something like that. I do see a lot of fingerprint marks on the screen and quite a bit of dust. Im thinking of using a soft cloth and light solution of isopropyl (50%). What do you think?

Please share your methods for this task!!

Thank U

I use a plain dry microfibre cloth to wipe the LCD clean once in a week. That works well.

Yes I use a space age micro fibre from Specsavers! If you have a particularly stubborn spot, keep it gentle and use a little spit

Vaio screens are the best around - they encourage you to look after them dont they!

Hi
I use a micro-fibre pad that spreads the pressure evenly over the screen using the included solution then a very light polish with a lint free soft cloth and you will end up with a perfectly clean screen
I can find the one I use on the net but this link goes to a similar product http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=311674&cks=ACC

Sony centre sold me E-cloth with cleansafe spray. They use it on all there screens in the shop. It gets rid of absolutely everything, even those little marks that appear from nowhere that nothing on earth seems to shift.

Glad I found this thread, it's made my day! 😛

Really, I've never known of a computer screen to get so marked & dusty, also it reflects too much light, it's a pain I can't even sit outside on a nice day with my laptop,

~ I'm gonna try and find my colour transparency sheet I use for reading (ADD) maybe that'll get rid of some of the reflections

I usually use a soft cloth for glasses, or a microfibre cloth. but the thing is, after a while these start to collect the grease/dirt etc that you keep wiping off, so they lose the cleaning potential. after a while you got to wash the cloths.

there's another way to get the grease of, but not all will think its a good idea. but it leave my screen perfect:-

mix a very tiny amount of washing up liquid (like a drop or 2) in a small amount of warm water.

dab one dry kleenex in the washing up liquid and warm water solution and carefully go over the screen, use a really tiny amount, so that there is no dripping down the screen itself.

wipe that soloution further using another DRY kleenex. to lift of the solution further.

then get clean warm water, and use a fresh kleenex to wipe over the screen again, being very careful with the amount of water once again. the kleenex should be just slightly damp.

then use a dry kleenex to finally go over ur screen to remove any left over water etc. ur screen will be totally grease free and sparkling.
