I have a third party DLNA server (Netgear NAS system). The music library on that NAS system causes the my Sony TV and Surround Sound systems to give an error when accessing the music by Artist, as follows:-
On KDL-46EX701: The error "could not receive the content list" is displayed after scrolling through 3 or 4 screens worth of artists. Works fine on other music listing options and on video.
On BDV-E370, the error message is simply along the lines 'server not found' or 'no content found' and occurs immediately on selecting "by Artist" listing (the page of artists may be briefly displayed before the error message kicks in). The server not found error is spurious because access to any other listing format always works immediately before or after trying the 'by Artist' listing.
I've re-tested both of the above on current firmware as of today, and the problem still exists.
The error does not occur when accessing the music by Artist from a Humax box nor from my Sony PS3.
I have found this link on the web http://www.conceiva.com/products/mezzmo/whatsnew.asp which includes a reference to this Sony problem and implies that the problem could be resolved at the server end. However, I would have thought that Sony would want to fix the problem in their kit.
The PS3 seems to have the edge on other Sony kit as far as DLNA goes, don't the development teams work together at all ??
Does Sony have any plans to address the above problem on the TV and Surround Sound system.
Is there a workaround anyone can suggest ?

Do you try Serviio with specific 2010 Sony Bravia profile : http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=425

Thanks for the servio suggestion. It looks like it would help but unfortunately I would have to get it working on the ReadyNAS... whilst servio site mentions porting to embedded NAS systems is possible, I lack expertise and time to achieve this.
I realise I'm opening an old thread
I've recently got a Sony KDL-32CX523 and am using Serviio.
I get this error also, at the point in the list when it reached {Artist] 'R'.
Is this a bug in the Sony Firmware ?
Has there been any fix for this ?
Regards
Denis
Anchise, could you post your question on Serviio forum, we'll try to investigate...
