Sony BDP-S570 and Lovefilm

Hi

Recently purchased a S570 with the main intention of using it for Love film as well and watching Blu ray disks

I am having issues whereas when streaming love film movies, the unit tends to freeze after about 50 minutes, with the waiting to download message and the cog going round

Fast forward, rewind, pause do nothing, all I can do is select stop, restart the film and fast forward to where the movie locked up

As you can imagine, this is not an ideal way to watch a movie, especially when it might lock up every 5 minutes once it starts

Broadband is ok, can stream to computer no with no issues

I have used iPlayer with no issues

Contacted Love film and they say the issue is known about and is waiting for a software update

Can anyone confirm this is a software issue and that a fix will be available in the near future else going to return the unit as faulty / not fit for purpose and find an alternative device which does work

Hi,

while you are waiting for possible news on any pending updates may i suggest if its not done already that you hardwire your player to your router, this should make for a more stable connection streaming movies from lovefilm.

For information, my unit already hardwired, tried that once problem was aopparant on wireless but no improvment in the situation I'm afraid

Unit is also already on the latest firmware

your welcome, i have the same player and admittedly not tried lovefilm though everything else works and its wireless!,

i would be very surprised if the player is the fault as you say lovefilm is aware of this so perhaps an update from them will be the answer, see if you can get an update on the erm..... update from them!.
