remote control affecting my tv

Hi all,

I have HX-980 hdd rec. and its work just fine, but when i use rem control it always change input on my tv (ovp 2545 ctv). Looks like tv is receiving commands from hdd remote control..

Any help, ideas, please share

It's not clear which is your TV and how they are connected (via HDMI?). In any case, if they interfere your recorder machine has 3 different command mode (default is DVD3) that you can choose

TV is old model OVP 2545 ctv.

Tv is connected via simple scart

So you saying that i can change mode how HX980 can "talk" with remote contrl so later it wouldnt interfere with tv..

That would be the solution i guess, how can i change that mode?

Be aware that I've the documentation in Italian and my model is the 870, but they should work in the very same way.

You should set the same "Command mode" in both the recorder and the remote.

In the recorder you should find the setting in System menu-->Initial setting-->Options-->Command mode

Choose DVD1 or DVD2 (as I sayd DVD3 is the default)

Then you should set the same on the remote:

press ENTER and, while pressing it, push #1 (for DVD1) or #2 (for DVD2) and keep them pressed for more the 3 seconds. (if something fails you can always reset everything...)

Have you tried (if available) to change the scart input in your television (Av1 to Av2 or viceversa)? Maybe you are using a smartlink connection and it gives you some side effects

Maybe, actually i even dont know what is smartlink..

but i will try to change input in tv
