BDP-S300 Blue ray player

My blue ray player is having difficulty with basic dvds. Eg in a box set of 4 disks it can play disk 2 & 3  but not disk 1 & 4. In some cases it can no longer play disks it has previously played.. Is this a serious problem?

Currently on firmware 3.9 - tried to update to 6.2 but had an issue reading the disk there too.

Also did factory reset to no avail

Any help greatly appreciated

You can try to clean the Optical Lens...

Still waiting for the kit to be delivered but I noticed the instructions say not to use a cleaner ?

I did contact them but after initial reply to reset thru haven’t answered probabily/ possibly because it’s out of warranty

Unfortunately the cleaner didn’t make a difference; it still doesn’t play the discs
Any further advice would be appreciated thanks
