Reset all the time.

Have had the PRS-T1 for a while now and I love it, but over the last week or so EVERY time I turn it on it has reset.  This means that I have to choose language, country etc.  Moderately annoying!  I have checked and it is up to date, and if on but put in standby is fine.  So is it buggered? Should I take it back to the Sony shop?  Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried doing a soft, and if that doesn't work, a hard reset ?

If you do a hard one, make sure you have all the content backed up, so it can all be re-installed,  as all is lost using this stage.

Yes did this, soft then hard reset but no joy.  Think it is going to have to go back to the shop.  Disappointing for (next to a tablet, smartphone etc) such a simple device.

Yup, only solution ...It's obviously a software/innards glitch.

However, make sure you take a few snaps of the reader to have proof of physical condition, & get paperwork from Sony store that it is in v.good condition when it left your care. This is essential, as problems over the physical condition of readers have arisen in the past.

Also make clear that you are aware of your rights under the Sale of Goods Act, and you know it is their resonsibility to sort it out or replace.

Your contract in law is with them, NOT Sony, so they are laible for any costs arising.

Sony stores are in fact nothing to do with Sony Corp. & are completely independent businesses, so do not assume you are being taken "care" of by Sony. They will almost certainly maintain this is not so.

They are simply shops selling Sony products, and have no other connection with Sony i.e. they do not represent Sony itself.

Again, under the Sale of Goods Act, they are responsible as your contract is with them as the seller of the device.
