Hi
I brought a PRS - T1 today and had it charging for around 3 hours, the little battery icon said 100%and the red charging light had gone but as soon as I disconnect it from my pc it said battery low and shutting down. I have tried all evening for it to hold its power even resetting it but doesnt seem to work.
Anyone have any ideas or shall I return it?
Thanks
Hello mel - try a rest.
Go back to Support, then support for T1.
Scroll down for manuals, Download to file the imanual.
Go to contents/troubleshooting/battery.
Shows you how to do a reset.
You have no contents yet, so wont lose anything, normally you would lose all installed stuff - probably.
Only thing you'll need is a staightened out paperclip.
Hope this helps.
(It could be a duff battery, but that's last port a call really, and go through Sony Support.)
Sorry, forgot - don't leave on charge on PC overnight - it can sometimes actually drain the battery not charge it !
That's A Bad Thing.
A wall charger is far better, and you can't overcharge, so can leave overnight.
Sony do one, or a 6/350 one is fine, and others will do it - but don't use any "Appley iPodly" one at all on it.

Hi
my PRS-T1 have this problem too, anyone can help me? i can't return it beacuse in my country we don't have sony support center for Ebook Reader , i buy it from out of my country. can i repair it ? or i have to throw it away .
( i'm sorry my english language not very well )
These all sound like batter malfunction - but do try resets first, it may sort things out.
Otherwise, you do need to contact Sony support.
Batteries are not easily replaceable, but they are generally very long-lived.
