I've borrowed several ePub format books from our local (UK) library. They all display accented characters wrongly (in UK English language text). I use Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium and wonder if it is a quirk of the Unicode character set.
For example, the word pate with a circumflex over the a and an acute accent over the e displays the a circumflex as capital A with an overscore, followed by a US cent symbol; the e acute displays as a capital A with a tilde over it, followed by the copyright symbol.
Is there a known fix?
I have the latest Reader Library software v3.3.00.07130 and the firmware on the Reader is as shipped in December 2010.
Thanks if anyone can help. This is irritating, rather than a show stopper, but it would be nice to find a fix, or a software or firmware update.
