Help please re sync.

Hi

My reader library on my PC seems to have crashed when I try to sync. I am unable to uncheck the boxes and status  symble just keeps running . Also it has caused my ereader to have lost all in the purchased book file.

I need to know how to unblock the sync

I really don't undertsand what's going awry here - I'm presuming you have followed the manual closely.

You could try installing Calibre - that will at least enable you to download books from wherever you want to, on whatever reader you want to use of your "stable".

Then you would at least know the reader is "working" OK  - and you can get your hands on books !

You may have lost the books from your devices, but they will be on your PC somewhere, unless you wiped them completely of course.

I have just installed the latest update for PC Reader (ver 1.1.05.13310) and I think it mentioned that it cures a problem relating to synchronising.

If you just start PC Reader without your eReader plugged in to your computer a box should appear when PC Reader opens advising that an update is available, there is a link that tells you what improvements have been made to the program.

If the update box does not appear automatically, click on Help then from the drop-down menu choose 'Check for Updates'.

Hi I have the same problem with the new Reader for PC and the old Reader Library software. I have the PRS 300 and PRS 350, both have lost all the books that we had. I have uninstalled both forms of software reinstated them seperately with no change what so ever.

I have started both forms of software with and without the reader pluged in and they do not show up as being attached to even Sync the machines, Once I did get the PRS 350 to show up on the software packages but was frozen out when trying to Sync.

Try and get to speak to someone in Sony for help..... don't bother.. left my contact details last week and still waiting, they are fast enough to take your money to repair the machine, but getting the new software to work...... love this machine, but not worth the hassle, I have spent a small fortune on books that I can no longer read, as the new software does not recognise some of the formats now, and software does not work.

Don't know how to sort this problem but know that reinstalling software doesn't fix it........ tearing my hair out.
