100 free books for PRS-T1

I bought a T2 a couple of months ago and have been having problems with this ever since. I have registered my device but simply do not have a 'my offers' option which Sony are suggestingI could click on.

Actually rung customer support, who also looked at my account and couldn't see this option, the whole button is missing. Then I was told this offer is no longer avaliable, or not avaliable on my ereader model.

Now I am told that it is avaliable 'just click on the my offers option'. Grrrrrr

Yes I know I can get these books elsewhere, but it is the principle of the thing. They are still promoting this so if I can't access it (or it is apparantly not avaliable on the only model of ereader they now sell) then I'm going to report them for false advertising

Thanks, I would be interested to know the outcome.

It was about a month ago that I was told over the phone that the offer was no longer avaliable. I queried this recently (once I saw they were still advertising it) and I was emailed 3 days ago to say that it was still avaliable!

A straight answer out of them would be nice.

Ok have finally got a reply from Sony..

The 100 free books offer that was linked to registering your PRS Reader has now ended..

:slight_frown:

However for those of you who are not aware you can still download free e-books from somewhere like Project Gutenberg..

Further information on free ebooks can be found within the Reader community site - Want free eBooks? You've come to the right place!

Hi Thalamus - no, wasn't for me really, just inquisitive !

Many yonks ago I gave up on the "offers" when I realised I could get the ones I really wanted from Gutenberg et al, as  you say ...............

I could do without all those Oscar Wildes, frankly .... :smileyblush:

Yes searching for the books you want rather then someone else's selection is probably a good way to start off your library..

I always get my free books (epub format) from www.feedbooks.com

It's a well laid out website with a vast range of both public domain and new books.

Recommended!
