xperia e5 forgot swipe phone is off

hi i have recently had to re install software due to people not being able to hear me (loudspeaker only). I have downloaded 'my xperia' and 'pc companion', did back up and it all worked well and was back to working properly.

I then set a swipe password up on my phone (which i didn't have before, i used 4 digit code). The battery went down (due to my usage). When i recharged and tried to switch on for some reason i am entering the swipe incorrectly and it will not let me switch it on.

can someone please advise a way to bypass the swipe screen as i cannot locate the phone through 'my xperia' as it is not officially on yet , so i cannot 'lock' on my experia and then enter the code on the phone.

thanks

Antony

Hi @bruzone

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about this Slightly_frowning_Face

The only way you will be able to get through the screen lock if the phone is not accepting the code is to perform another software repair using Xperia Companion.

This will remove the screen lock so you can access your device, please note this will also wipe the internal memory of the phone so you will need to restore your previous back up once the process is complete.

Good luck Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi @bruzone

The back up files if done through Xperia Companion will still be available to restore to the handset even if they have been restored previously.

You will simply need to follow the same steps to restore the back up after the software repair as you have done previously Slightly_smiling_Face

software not picking up the phone as its off

is it a case of ticking the my phone cannot be switched on box and just follow instructions then when done ...click restore a previous back up

@bruzone

Yes, you will need to tick the box to state the phone cannot be turned on.

You will then be prompted through the steps to perform the software repair.

One that is completed you can go through the steps to restore a previous back up to the handset.
