Hello there.
Last week my sister's Xperia E5 (which was bought new for Christmas) started to behave improperly.
When being charged, it randomly turns itself off due to 'Critical battery' even if it had over 40% seconds before. The phone isn't hot, not even warm.
At times it does not charge at all - everything is plugged but the phone does not take power.
When connected to PC, it does not lose connection.
Always used original Sony charger and cable; tried charging it with LG charger and cable - same thing happens.
Already have tried repairing via the Xperia Companion, which I think reverted everything to factory settings - the issue still persists.
Anything I can do?
Hey @happyblack,
Sorry to hear that. If the phone is acting the same way after you've performed a software repair and with different chargers I would say that this is related to hardware rather then software. I'm not sure how the warranty and service procedures work in your market. In order to have your device sent to an authorized service centre I'd recommend that you contact your local support for further assistance.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
I'll certainly do that, sir.
Thank you.
Unfortunately, I have to join up with a same experience.
I became excited bying Experia E5(serial no ) in November 2016. After 2 months ( 11/Jan/2017) couldn't be started on . No signs when it is plugged to Sony original charger.
At official SONY service in Belgrade ( sService art. SA480581)has been repaired after 9 days with explanation that software has been replaced.
After 2 months ,(7/March?2017) I has been forced again to ask for the service as the battery life has been shortened to only 6-10 hours though advertising PRIVILEGE OF LONG BATTERY LIFE FOR 2 DAYS helped me in choosing EXPERIA E5.
My disapointment is going further on as I've got today information from service (after a week) that my complain is not accepted.
Is it normal that mobile under guarantee( 4months old) could faced such a problem or it is some factory malware ?
Kind regards
Can you advice me in
Hi, I have a problem with my E5, where it is draining faster than its charging, and I got a brand new official battery for it, and all it is doing now is show that it is charging even though it isnt. What should I do?
Experia E5 will not power up
