Hi @YAboiJ,

Welcome to the community!

How often would you say your phone turns itself off? Are we talking once an hour or closer to once a day?

As @uliwooly suggested, booting your phone without your SIM-card inserted is a good start as a defect or broken SIM-card can cause the phone to reboot. If possible, try (temporarily) removing your SIM-card or that you try using another one for a while.

Do you have an SD-card in your phone? If so, try booting your phone without it inserted. Are the random shut downs still happening?

It's turns it self off a minimum of twice a week but yesterday it shut off twice in one day. I'm looking into a new sd card as this one is old but I won't be able to say straight away whether it makes a difference as it happens a couple of times a week

If the shut downs do not happen that often I understand this might take a while to test. Please keep us updated about what happens if you try another SD-card or if you completely remove it (temporarily).

This is happening to me as well. I find it very unlikely that it is the sim and sd card. My sim is fine because it works perfect in other phones and the sd card is new. And your correct to test this intermittent problem would be extremely difficult not to mention take weeks if the phone is only doing it every couple of days. I very poor suggestion I think to a underlining problem. Please prove me wrong with a response Sony because I have your TV and that has had software issues and I don't want a problem with this phone. Plus I am sure the longer this goes on I might lose the chance to get a replacement from the shop, meaning a probable lengthy process of a replacement from yourself..

Hi @Kungfudon,

I understand your frustration.

How long would you say that this has been happening with your phone? Is there any pattern as to when the shut downs occur/what can trigger it?

If you find it unlikely that the cause of this is your SIM- and/ord SD-card, have you made sure your phone is up to date? If not you can check for updates by installed Xperia Companion on a computer. Once installed, connect your phone to your computer and check for available updates.

Hi, I have also been having the same issue. It happens to me quite a few times a day. I could just be turning the phone on and it will shutdown mid launch. It will also shutdown when on charge. It now and again does not register the charger. I have reset my phone to factory settings and check for all the latest updates. I have been suffering with this for about a month but it has been really bad in the past week. The phone is still under warranty so I will try the shop. Is this a current problem with the model? Any more advice will be most appreciated

I have the same problem of turning off but generally after taking pictures. I bought my phone last September and the pb start early. I put a new memory card, ( even if the other works very well in other devices) and the pb stops for perhaps 2 months but now It comes again !!
It's my first Sony but I am very disappointed. What can I do??
