Hey!
I got for my kid a Sony Xperia E5 F3311 and he putted a password. Unfortunately he doesnt remember it and I am unable to do anything to reset the phone to its original state. Can anyone please help me? I have tried almost everything, I bet there is something of which I havent thought yet. I tried entering recovery mode, doesn't work, companion won't let me in until I unlock the screen and put MTB or something mode. Tried another app for reseting but it also asks screen unlock.
Hi @fr35hm3a7,
I'm sorry to hear this.
What you can do to reset your kids device and remove any screen lock for it, is to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Note! This will completely reset the device and as it is locked there is no way to back up its content.
Also note that if the device has a Google account on it you will be required to unlock the device using that Google account.
Let me know how it goes.
Hey! So I tried doing it with companion but all the time it says no internet connection/no changes done. My biggest problem now is that I needed to put my SIM inside there so it has internet but it still says it doesn't... I know that Androids have to have some sort of software which just wipes everything without needing to have debug mode... Very unfortunate that Sony didn't realize that recovery mode is essential to a phone especially nowadays...
Hi again @fr35hm3a7,
You need a computer with an Internet connecting to do this reset I'm afraid. If you do not have one all I can recommend is that you get in contact with your Local support team for assistance with having the device sent in to an authorized service center to have it unlocked.
Thank you for the feedback regarding a recovery mode, I will make sure to forward it internally as user feedback.
