Earbuds from Xperia Arc not working on Xperia E4
Hi everyone,
I have earbuds from xperia arc, with which I'm satisfied regarding the sound reproduction on laptop or desktop. However, when I use these earbuds on E4 I get a message: "Headset not supported...", and I have to keep mic button pressed in order to have full quality sound.
I do have the earbuds that came with E4 and they work fine. Both of the earbuds (E4 and Arc) have three plastic stripes on them, so I guess the connection is the same.
So, the question is, is it possible to use headphones from Arc on E4?
Thanks!

Hi, can you count the number of segments on the earphone plug? Or the number of bandshttps://cn.hama.com/bilder/00080/det/00080857det2.jpg
Dont mind me, I'm having a bad day.
you have the correct 4 pole connector on both they should work. Something weird is happening.. Gimme a sec to investigate

Hi Neo,
both of the plugs have the same number of segments and bands, as on this pic:

Check the height and see if the plug either sits higher or lower than the other jack when plugged in

Actually, there's a pinout change, your Mic and Ground are reversed on the older phone

It's the wiring inside. It's reversed. Which means off is on for microphone.
When you press the mic button, it sort of completes the circuit and you left and right finally get to have a proper reference (ground) signal

Some of electrical tape solved the issue.
