I've bought an E5 because work I do necessitates Android OS to get two specific apps. Let me say, however, that I loath Android, my only previous Android phone (a Samsung) went in the bin within weeks, and I am a total Windows Phone devotee ... but that doesn't support the apps. I'm also 66, don't txtspk, use grammatically correct UK English and I'm pedantic. On the plus side I'm computer literate, (well a of a lot more than most people of my age).
Introduction over! Please treat me gently. I'm reaching the end of my tether with this phone too, and I've only had it five weeks.
I need to do a few very specific things please ... and nothing else.
That's it, nothing else ... zilch, rien, nada!
Help please.
That seems quite simple BUT we need to know which apps you are referring to so we can walk you through the process step by step.
The app I need to deal with primarily is called Imageproof and is provided by a company called Service Certainty.
I would, however, like to have the capacity to set a specific tone for various different functions. At the moment I am stuck with one single tone for everything. My biggest bugbear is that the phone uses the same notification tone for every single system function.
I need to set a different one for each of, for example, that app, FB, Messenger, email, SMS, available WiFi, etc etc. One single notification tone for everything is a nightmare.
However, if I could just get this one app (Imageproof) to have its own notification tone that would be fine. Surely there is a way of setting one different tone for one specific app please? Isn't there?
BTW please note that Imageproof is only available through the Service Certainty website and is not, to the best of my knowledge, available through any app store.
you can change the notification tone
facebook > menu > app settings > notifications > ringtone > select the notification sound
it's similar with other apps.
Sorry, I'm being really dense here. I'm talking about a setting within this one device, and for this one app, not Facebook.
This app offers the following in its own Notification Settings:
That's it, nothing else.
I need to change this with the E5's phone settings.
I think I misunderstood, are you saying that you are using a third party app and you need to know how to change the notifications from that app? if that's so, then you have to contact the app developer regarding that, since it's a third party app, it's up to them not Sony.
OK thanks.
May I just check one thing please. Refering to the E5's own settings only, are you saying that it is not possible to set the notification tone for individual functions to anything different for any individual function? Am I stuck with one single notification tone for everything?
