Sony DSC-HX20V

I am slowly getting to know my DSC-HX20V but after taking a photo on full zoom how can I turn the zoom off without having to turn the camera off?

Hi

Hope all is well. What you should find on the top of the camera is a toggle which is marked as W and on the other side is T. If you use your finger and move the wheel back towards the W, it will zoom out.

Most cameras will have the same lettering, W = wide angle, T = telephoto (zoom)

Hope that helps.

Hi Brian – just to clarify: I guess you're talking about the lens retracting into the body when not in use? I don't have one to hand to check, but the camera should retract the lens when you enter a Playback mode.

The camera is designed to have the lens extended while it's in a shooting mode in order to be 'ever-ready' for use, even when not 'zoomed in' – at its widest setting it's normal for the lens to be protruding a couple of inches from the camera body.

If the lens extends to its fullest extent at all times, there may be some kind of internal fault that needs addressing.

Cheers

Mick
