Hi, I have a DSC-HX20V which records HD movies and I am having problems playing my home movies.
They are in mpeg TS format and will play on media player but the bottom half of the video is all liney and pixelated and the whole thing jumps around. I have tried VLC media player I have divx codec pack and ffdshow and nothing seems to get them to play.
If i have a film of fast moving objects there are lines accross the screen and its all jumpy still and even when i used power director to edit the video and saved it in a different format it will doesnt work properly.
If I view the video on the camera itself its perfect and smooth which makes me think its not a problem with the videos themselvs
I'm at my whit's end with this please help me.
Ollie
Hello niracka - Welcome to the Sony Forums
It definitely sounds like the issue lies with the computer that you are using to play back these files. When I had a problem playing some similar files a while back, I took a look at the following article:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/how_to_play_ts_files.cfm
In the end, the solution that worked for me was downloading Haali Media Splitter and then following the instructions in the article to ensure that support for MPEG-TS files was selected when setting up the software. Although this fixed the playback issues for me, there are also some other steps that you can try that are mentioned just in case which include using a video converter to change the file into a regular MPEG file but let's hope that the other steps work for you first of all.
Thanks,
Simon
